Obituary of George Edward Kaiser
GEORGE EDWARD KAISER, 73 years of age, died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Indiana. George was born June 17, 1939 in New Albany, Indiana to the late William H. and M. Mildred (Day) Kaiser. He was a graduate of Our Lady of Providence High School in Clarksville, IN and St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX. Along with his brothers, George was Owner/Operator of Kaiser Wholesale, Inc. in New Albany where he held the position of CEO. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Cardinal Ritter Council, St. Vincent DePaul Society and Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany. George had an impressive recall of sports statistics that complimented his passion for his favorite teams, Indiana University and Notre Dame. In his retirement years, he enjoyed playing cards and playing golf with his friends; but more importantly, he treasured watching his grandchildren grow up. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Louis Kaiser; and sister, Darlene Kaiser. Survivors include his wife of 52 Years, Ruth Ann Uhl Kaiser; children, Sheryl King, MD (Ed), Chris Kaiser (Julie), DeAnn Burns (Dan) and Becky Wenning; sister, Joyce Krementz (Rich); brother, William Kaiser; and grandchildren, Joe, Doug, Helen, Will and Sally King, Morgan, Kate and Kendall Kaiser, Danielle, Aaron, Alec and Rachel Burns, and Derek and Josie Wenning. Visitation will be 11:00 am ~ 8:00 pm Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
