Cyrus Walton Aman Sr.
December 2, 1912 – May 5, 2013

Cyrus Walton Aman Sr., died May 5, 2013 at age 100. Mr. Aman was born in Jacksonville, N.C., to John Henry and Nellie Aman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Nan Gilbert Aman of Farmville, Va. Survivors include a son, Cyrus Jr. of Roanoke, Va., a daughter, Jane Aman Liepis, and her husband, William Liepis of Richmond, a sister, Pauline Aman Walker of Birmingham, Alabama, a brother, Wilbur Aman of Jacksonville, N.C., a sister in law, Romalda Aman of Hickory, N.C., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Aman was a 1934 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a member of Bon Air United Methodist Church, and a charter member of Willow Oaks Country Club. He played golf well into his nineties. Mr. Aman retired from Mason-Dixon Trucking Co. after 35 years in the industry. He was a Life Member of the Richmond Transportation Club, the National Defense Transportation, the Virginia Motor Carriers Association, and other related organizations.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7pm, on Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian. Graveside services will be held at 11am, on Saturday, May 11, at Westview Cemetery, Farmville. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
