Obituary of Estle Darrell Bland
Darrell Bland, 60, of Terre Haute, IN was called home to be with his Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born on March 31, 1953, in Terre Haute to Estle and Rosa Mae (Foxworthy) Bland. Darrell was co-owner of Precision Label and Associated Label. He had previously worked at Columbia Records. He was an avid baseball and basketball fan, and always enjoyed watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers, and Indiana Hoosiers basketball. He loved spending time with his family and could always be counted on to watch his sons and nephews play baseball. He also loved to coach and touched many lives. He cherished his family more than anything and will always be lovingly remembered as a devoted father, husband, and true family man. Darrell is survived by his wife Nancy of 24 years; sons, Brandon Bland and his wife Megan, Justin Fields and his wife Savannah, and Jared Reedy who was raised as one of his own; brothers, Bill Bland and his wife Betty and Randy Bland and his wife Kim; sisters, Sue Adams and Linda Grayless Mitchell and her husband Don; grandchildren, Luke Carter Bland, Greyson Christian Bland, Lula Rose Fields, and Max Connor Fields; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Abby, Regina, Cheryl, Brian, Brent, Cindy, Jill, Michele, Terri Lynn, and Lisa; and great-nieces and nephews, Derek, Ethan, Nathan, Taylor, Gunnar, Ella, Mickey, Grant, Tony, and Travis. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Sandra Kay, a brother Ed Bland, and a brother-in-law Larry Grayless. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home with Reverend Mark Grayless officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
