Obituary of Alsee  "Peggy" Vick Cunningham
Alsee “Peggy” Vick Cunningham, 61, a resident of Mt. Sidney, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Emeritus of Staunton after a lengthy struggle with Early Alzheimers. She was born January 10, 1952 in Hampton, VA, and was the daughter of the late Presley G. and Dollie Hughes Vick. Peggy graduated from Hampton High School in 1970, and had worked at Hampton General Hospital while living there. In 1985 they moved to Mt. Sidney where she was formerly employed at Augusta Medical Center; and also owned and operated Augusta Motel. She was a member of Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women. Peggy was a wonderful, caring, and thoughtful person, well loved by many and always enjoyed doing things by providing care for others, and never had an enemy; she also participated in the Operation Shoe Box and was an avid card player. On June 10, 1972 she married William “Bill” L. Cunningham, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Cynthia C. White and husband, Greg, of Crittenden, KY, Lisa C. Glasgow and husband, Scott, of Jefferson City, MO; a sister, Viola Hudson and husband, Richard; a brother, Terry Vick and wife, Donna, all of Hampton; her mother-in-law, Wanda Cunningham of Mt. Sidney; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church with Pastor Beth McCrary officiating.
