Ervin Hampton Boyd

Stuarts Draft Ervin Hampton Boyd Ervin Hampton Boyd, 92, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Friday June 21, 2013 at Augusta Health. Mr. Boyd was born on November 27, 1920 in Augusta County and was a son of the late Herbert C. and Estie L. (Fox) Boyd. Ervin worked for Crompton for 37 years prior to his retirement. In his retirement he worked for Central Security as a Security Guard for more than 10 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and working on small engines. Ervin was a life time member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Navy during World War II. On January 4, 1947 he married Ida Fitzgerald, who preceded him in death on March 6, 2001. Mr. Boyd is survived by two sons, Clyde Boyd and wife Sandra of Stuarts Draft, Ernie Boyd and wife Cindy of New Hope; special friend, Linda Swats of Stuarts Draft, who he thought of as a daughter; a sister, Christine Kehrer of Raphine; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, Ervin was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday June 25, 2013 at 11 AM at Calvary United Methodist Church in Stuarts Draft with Pastor Don McClure officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the Stuarts Draft V.F.W. Post # 9339. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad; P.O.
