Kathryn Braudrick Sandridge

Sandridge, Kathryn Braudrick, 94, died June 28, 2013. She was a native of Richmond and a resident of the Hermitage at Cedarfield. Mrs. Sandridge's home church was Huguenot Road Baptist Church. She attended VCU (RPI) and the University of Richmond while working full-time for the Commonwealth of VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Sandridge, a professor at Roanoke College; the couple were long-time residents of Roanoke, VA. The Sandridges established a scholarship fund for women at the University of Richmond, and over the years Mrs. Sandridge helped many women--all of whom she met with personally--get a college education. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Ramon Warren, Jr.; nieces, Shirley Murden, Qwendolyn Williamson, and Linda Duke; nephews, Ramon Warren, III and T. Floyd Irby, Jr.; cousin, Thomas Fidler; and numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. She will have a graveside service for family at Oakwood Cemetery, Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00am, followed by a memorial service at the Hermitage at Cedarfield at 2:00pm conducted by Chaplain Chancellor Hamilton, Rev. T. Floyd Irby, Jr., and Pastor Melissa Fallen. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kathryn B. Sandridge Scholarship Fund at the University of Richmond, Director of Planned Giving, University of Richmond, Richmond, VA 23173, or to the charity of your choice.
