Linwood Alexander Fridley

In loving memory of our father, Linwood A. Fridley, age 82, he passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013. He was a native of Augusta County, VA and a resident of Hampton for 40 years. Linwood was of the Christian faith. He was drafted into the Brooklyn Dodgers and pitched for them in 1949, after which he joined the Air Force and served his country for 26 years. He retired as a CMSGT. He graduated from the University of Maryland with two Master's degrees. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Sadie Fridley. He is survived by Patricia Fridley; son, Robert Fridley; daughters, Michelle Bachus and Alexandra Pearsaul; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Gene Fridley. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home.
