Antoinette Bonfiglio Boyajian
Antoinette “Anne” Boyajian passed away peacefully on August 9, 2013, in her 87th year, with family at her side. Anne, born in New York, NY, was a long time resident of Brooklyn, NY, and later retired to Toms River, NJ. She retired from Macy’s Herald Square in New York City after 28 years of service. She had moved in recent years to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Pete Peterik, in Williamsburg, VA.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Melkon “Mel” Boyajian, and her siblings Josephine Mastroianni (the late Edmondo), Mario Bonfiglio, Sebastian Bonfiglio and Rosalie Bonfiglio.
She is survived by her siblings Salvatrice Gambardella (the late Michael), Mary Zappa (the late John), Frances Sweet (John), Joseph Bonfiglio and Angelyn Bonfiglio; her children Stephen Boyajian (Marian), Joan Peterik (Pete), and Donald Boyajian (Veronica); her grandchildren Andrea Scott (Bob), Brian Peterik, Phillip Boyajian (Katie), Andrew Boyajian, Amy Peterik, and Marisa Boyajian; and great-grandson Ryan Scott.
Anne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will always be remembered for her quiet humor, easy demeanor, intelligence and never-ending love of music and dance.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 10:15 AM, at St. James RC Church, Seaford, NY. Interment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetary, Arneytown, NJ.
