Obituary of Dr. John E. Coffman Jr.
DR. JOHN E. COFFMAN, JR., 85, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at his residence. John was a U.S. Army veteran and former member of American Legion Post #28 in New Albany. He was a Podiatrist in New Albany for many years and was a life member of both the Indiana and American Podiatrist Associations, life member of the Redman Club, was a loyal volunteer for the Floyd County Democrat Party and served on the Horseshoe Foundation. John was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany, St. Mary’s Mens Club, served on the Pastoral Council and devoted innumerable hours helping at the church in many different capacities. John was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita M. Voignier Coffman; parents, Grace E. (Bell) and John E. Coffman, Sr.; sisters, Colleen Coffman Ginkins and Roberta Coffman; and niece, Edna Rose Ginkins. Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Patricia Coffman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert L. “Sonny” and Mona Voignier; nieces & nephews, Tammy Sadighi (Abraham), Timi Coleman, Paul Eugene Coffman, Jr. (Sue), Tara Lynn Coffman Koerber (Robert), Susan Elaine Coffman Chepa (Hollis), Tracy Ann Coffman (David Book), Sharon Canary, Rebecca McCoy, Patricia Franklin (Ed) and Garry, Larry (Diane), Terry (Carol), Jerry and Barry Ginkins; friend, Forrest Byrne; and numerous great nieces & great nephews. Visitation will be 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN. A Prayer Service will be held at 4:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. His Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany with burial to follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
