Robert Steele Grief

Robert Steele Grief, MD 82, of Indianapolis, passed away at home on November 21, 2013, surrounded by his two living angels, his loving wife Marlene and granddaughter/daughter Jessica. He was born August 27, 1931, the son of A. Vernon and Mary Noble Grief. Dad was a family doctor for 30 years on the city’s south side, retiring in 1987. Dad’s life after retirement was dedicated to his grandchildren, vacationing in Florida and “field trips” to enlighten them to all that life has to offer. He was a Korean War veteran and a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine. Dad is survived by his loving wife of 54 years: Marlene K Grief, children: Kathy (David) Kroeger, MD, Jane Grief, Fritz (Jennifer) and John (Jenny) Grief, grandchildren: Matt, Kevin, Shelby Kroeger, William Sutton, Alex, Sam and Jessica Grief. Dad was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Judy Robinson and brother: James V. Grief, MD. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, November 29, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm in Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. Funeral services will be private.
