Junior Leon Seal

Junior Leon Seal, 66, a resident of Shenandoah, died unexpectedly Monday, December 9, 2013 at his residence.
A son of Annie Stoneberger Samuels of Elkton, and the late Isaac Cecil Seal, he was born on November 28, 1947 in Harrisonburg.
Junior served in the U.S. Army as a Pvt. 1st Class and was injured during the Vietnam War. Serving in the 1st Battalion of the 501st Infantry Division, he received a Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and the Expert Rifle Medal. Following his discharge, he worked as a park ranger in the Shenandoah National Park; and made his home in Page County most of his life and was a member of the VFW.
Surviving along with his mother are seven children, John Seal of Shenandoah, Billy Seal of Rileyville, Shawn Seal of Luray, Maria Lewis of Timberville, Michele “Shelly” Bartley of Smithfield, VA, Karen Thompson of Massanutten, and Wendy Davis of Shenandoah; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Peggy Somers of Luray, Janice Beahm of Rileyville, and Doris Foltz of Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at Lindsey-Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah.
A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon at 2 pm at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery in Stanley, VA, with Pastor Wayne Comer officiating.
