Billy Baughn

Billy Baughn, 78, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 in Williamsburg, VA. He was a native of Sophie, WV and a resident of Hampton for over 30 years. Billy was a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean and Viet Nam conflicts and retired in 1973. He retired from Civil Service after 20 years of service. Upon retirement from Civil Service, he worked for Top Guard Security Company. He was a member of Providence Free Will Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed camping, dogs and supported the SPCA. Billy was preceded in rest by his parents, Outher and Myrtle Baughn; previous wife of 27 years, Ivy Lou Baughn; brother, Earl Baughn; and sisters; Louise Davis and Margaret Sparks. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Phyllis Baughn; son, Michael Baughn and Peggy Widhalm; stepsons, Billy Beachum and wife, Diana, and Clinton Beachum; several grandchildren; and sister, Norma Underwood. Burial arrangements for Mr. Baughn will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Providence Free Will Baptist Church, 731 E. Little Back River Road, Hampton, VA 23669.
