LANE, Richard Marcus, 61, of Richmond, Va., passed away on February21, 2014, after a long, hard fought battle with Lupus. Richard is survived by his
wife, Judy; sister, Rene of Edmund, Okla.; his stepson, David (Jill) Wilkerson; stepdaughter, Sara (Michael) Zimmerman; and his five grandchildren,
Megan, Katherine and Bradley Wilkerson and Taylor and Zachary Zimmerman.
Richard was born in Stuttgart, Germany and was baptized at St. Peters Basilica. He moved to Virginia from California in 1984. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Independence during the Vietnam War. Richard graduated from Christopher Newport University in 1987. He loved to ride and rebuild Harley’s. He made several cross country trips on his bikes and looked forward to his annual trip to Sturgis. In 1995, Richard and Judy opened Capital Door Systems Inc., and he was an integral part of the business up to his last days. He was loved by many and will be missed greatly.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday February 27, 2014, at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian,
with a memorial service beginning at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smile Train or Wounded Warrior Project.
