Thomas Michael Mikula

Thomas Mikula, of Williamsburg, passed away on March 24, 2014 at the age of 87. He was a 1948 graduate of the College of William and Mary and was a member of William and Mary Athletic Hall of Fame, as well as the William and Mary Football Club. Thomas was the Headmaster with Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, NH. He previously was a teacher at Phillips Andover Academy and a Director of the Project ABC Public School Program. Thomas and his wife, Elva, retired to Williamsburg in 1988. After Thomas’s accomplishing career in Education, he started the Elva Waltrip Mikula Nursing Scholarship and HEYFARL Scholarship Aid Program for William and Mary Football. Thomas was also a William and Mary Alumni Medallion Award recipient in 2001. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elva Waltrip Mikula. Thomas is survived by his son, Edward Mikula; Daughter, Anna Mikula Pawlewicz and her husband, Richard Pawlewicz; grandchildren, Jessica and Thomas Mikula, Karl and Michaela Pawlewicz, and Hannah Pawlewicz Viera; and 2 great-grandchildren, Abel and Xavier Viera. A memorial service will be held at the William and Mary Alumni House, 500 Richmond Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185 on Saturday, April 12, at 10AM.
