Robert Phillip Adams (Bob), 90, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on April 8 at Summit Convalescent Center in Summitville, Indiana. Bob was born December 20, 1923, in Springfield, Illinois, to Charles Adams and Esther Broderick Adams.
Bob was a proud Marine Veteran, having served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was an avid fisherman and a member of East Side Church of Christ.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Gladys Adams: his first two wives, Edna May Lakin and Irene Adams; his beloved wife, Dorothy Stewart Legg Adams; and step-daughter Diana Legg Leslie.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol Cook of Springfield, Illinois; son, Larry Lakin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his step-daughter, Tribune-Star columnist Verna Davis of Frankton, Indiana; six grandchildren, Brad Leslie of Louisville, KY, Dehna Dee of Lincoln, IL, Tricia Selvage of Owings, MD, Kristy Stamdaugh of Springfield, IL, Matt Davis of Indianapolis, IN, and Drew Leslie of Mobile, AL; and ten great-grandchildren; Hunter, Blake, and Asher Leslie, Elizabeth and Christopher Davis, Lucas and Melanie Selvage, Syndey and Kylee Dee, and Christopher and Tyler Stamdaugh.
Visitation will be at Roselawn Memorial Park on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 1:00 to 3:00, with services at 3:00 with Doug Davis, officiating. Bob will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
