Anna Laura Bird

Anna Laura Bird, 71, of Staunton passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her residence. Born March 29, 1943 in Beach, VA, she was the daughter of the late Taylor O. and Virginia L. Bird. Anna was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Staunton. She retired as an elementary school teacher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James T. Bird; nephew, James I. Bird; great-nephew, Gabriel A. Bird; brother-in-law, Bill Parker. Survivors include her siblings, Sarah B. Parker, Mary B. Smith, John T. Bird and wife, Angie, Martha B. Smith, David L. Bird and wife, Ramona and Paul D. Bird and wife, Dorleen; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Mary Johns officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum & Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the funeral home.
