Sherry Abernathy

Sherry S. Abernathy, 60, of Liberty died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at her residence. Sherry was born in Richmond, Indiana, on July 16, 1953, to Paul Fleetwood and Helen Carson Parker. She graduated from high school in Winter Park, Florida, in 1971. Sherry had been employed as an assembly worker at Visteon in Connersville and lived most of her life in this area. The love and joy of Sherry’s life was spending time with her granddaughter, Brooke, and her family. Sherry is survived by a son, Dustin Abernathy of Liberty, a daughter Ashley Curry (husband Richard) of Liberty, a granddaughter, Brooke Curry, a brother and a sister. She was preceded in death by her parents and companion Lloyd Buckler. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, with Rev. John Shepherd officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home 12:00 noon Thursday until time of service where memorial contributions may be made to Relay For Life.
