Dorothy Lucille McAlister Foltz

Dorothy Lucille Foltz, 89, of Delaplane, VA, and formerly of Shenandoah, passed away at the home of her son on May 30, 2014; she had been in failing health for the past five years.
She was born in Page County on April 9, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Charles and Lottie Grimsley McAlister.
Dorothy lived the majority of her life in the Cub Run area in Shenandoah, and was educated in Page County schools. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She previously worked for Wrangler and was a homemaker and did babysitting for many people in the community.
She is survived by her husband, William Bryan Foltz of Shenandoah; five children, William H. “Bill” Foltz of Shenandoah, Charles I. Foltz and wife, Lois, of Delaplane, VA, Patricia “Pat” Foster and husband, Dwight, of Stanley, Kathryn M. Deavers and husband, Kenneth, and Donna “Sue” Shadid all of Shenandoah; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Kathleen Williams of Elkton, and Jean Clary and husband, Roy, of Shenandoah; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
A funeral service will follow at 12 Noon, with Pastors Mark Briehl, Phyllis Diamond and Jimmy Kite officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
