Roy Wesley Ayers Jr.

Roy Wesley Ayers, Jr., 63, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Patricia Thomas Ayers. Born January 1, 1951 in Lynchburg, he was the son of Lois Bryant Ayers of Lynchburg and the late Roy W. Ayers, Sr. and was also preceded in death by a brother Randy Ayers. He was a retired supervisor with Hanson Porcelain Co. and a former employee of Spring Hill Cemetery. In addition to his wife and mother, Roy is survived by two children, Lesia A. Crumpton and husband Jason of Lynchburg and Rodney Ayers and wife Joyce of Dublin; two brothers, Charles Ayers and Dennis Ayers and wife Judy, both of Lynchburg; eleven grandchildren, including Tiersha Nikcole Ayers (Geoffrey), who was raised by Roy; two special great-grandchildren, Tiana and Geofferson Royal and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon), Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Bryant and the Rev. Dr. Carlton Jackson, Jr. officiating. Inurnment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Tucker officiating.
