Ronald Eugene Bokelman

Ronald Eugene Bokelman, 74, of Clarksburg passed away on June 22, 2014, after a brief illness at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on August 9, 1939, in Anderson, Indiana, the son of Adolph and Lois Barnes Bokelman. Ron was a 1957 graduate of Burney High School and was a United States Army Veteran. On July 26, 1963, he married Helen Jean Hite at the First Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Indiana. Ron retired from Delta Faucet after 29 years working in tool and die. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, playing cards, and hosting friends and family in the Bokelman Hospitality Room. He was a member of the Springhill Presbyterian Church, Greensburg Jaycees, volunteer for the Clarksburg Fire Department and was a golf partner for the Decatur County Special Olympics.
Survivors include: Wife- Helen Jean Bokelman, Daughter- Carole (Mike) Dierckman, Son- Steve (Sally) Bokelman, Grandchildren: Dustin and Katelyn Bokelman, Sisters- Clara (Ed) Bewley, Shirley (Larry) Meyer, Deb Mart, Brothers- Jim Bokelman, Ed (Judy) Bokelman, John (Alice) Bokelman, Brother in law- Glen Wilson, and Cousin- Rita Hellmich. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister- Jane Wilson, Infant Brother- Robert Bokelman, and Sister in law- Patricia Bokelman.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 11:00 am all at the Gilliland Howe Funeral Home. Rev. Shannon Burford will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Springhill Presbyterian Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion and VFW. Memorial contributions can be made to the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department, Decatur County Special Olympics, or to the Springhill Presbyterian Church.
