Captain PETER CALDWELL WYLIE JAGC, USN (Ret.) (Age 69) Of Alexandria, VA, departed this life on June 26, 2014 Born in Summit, NJ on March 15, 1945, the son of the late Rear Admiral Joseph Caldwell Wylie and Harriette Bahney Wylie. He is survived by his wife Commander Carolina Clair Wylie, USN (Ret.); his son Peter C. Wylie Jr.; daughter Jamie C. Wylie; and his sister Captain Elizabeth G. Wylie, USN (Ret.). After graduation from St. Paul's School, Concord NH, and Princeton University, Pete received his law degree from UVA and entered the Navy JAG corps. He was assigned to duty in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star with combat "V." Assignments included duty aboard USS Independence, legislative liaison to the US Congress, Staff Judge Advocate in London, UK, and Fleet Judge Advocate to the Commander, Sixth Fleet in Italy. Upon retirement from active duty, Capt. Wylie became Secretary and General Counsel to Military Officers Association of America, where he served for fourteen years. A memorial service will be held at Pohick Episcopal Church, Lorton VA, on Thursday July 3 at 11 a.m., with interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fischer House Foundation.
