Robert Allen Turpin

Robert Allen Turpin, 55, of Rustburg passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 in Lynchburg. Born in Lexington, VA January 22, 1959, he was a son of Dorothy Bryson Turpin of Rustburg and the late Eugene Samuel Turpin, Sr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Heather Mae Turpin of Lynchburg and Nicole Christine Turpin of Rustburg; two brothers, Eugene Samuel Turpin, Jr. and wife Melinda and Richard Lynn Turpin and wife Melanie all of Rustburg; his former wife, Christine Turpin and his beloved dog Missy. He was a 1977 graduate of Rustburg High School, was retired from Kroger after over 27 faithful years of service, and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. He was a devoted father and loved watching his daughters grow up. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. James W. Burke officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
