Gary Wayne Ralston

Gary Wayne Ralston, 60, of 179 Maine Circle, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at Augusta Health. Born November 11, 1955, he was the son of the late Jack D. and Mary Ramsey Ralston. He was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Wayne Ralston, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Sue Ralston, a step-son, Jeremy Palmer, special children in his life; Kylie, Michelle, Jasper, Jerimiah, James, Selena, Emily and three special girls who visited him during his illness, Shawna Shifflett, Nalleli Fransisco and Denise Hinojos-grado. He also leaves sisters-in-law Sharon Mutherspaw, Annabelle Chandler, Billie Bartley, brothers-in-law David Chandler, Charlie Chandler, Gary Bartley, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastors Luke Smith and David Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 340. Active pallbearers will be Eddie Yount, Jerry Vandeavander, David T. Chandler, Gary Bartley, Charlie Chandler and Brandon Mutherspaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Bartley, John Bartley, David W. Chandler, Chuck Monroe, Nick Mutherspaw and Billy Shifflett. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the funeral home. The family wishes to give a special thank-you to the hospice nurses, volunteer interim nurses and the nurses of the Staunton Veteran’s Clinic.
