Louise H. Palmateer

Louise H. Palmateer, 88, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at Guggenheimer Nursing Home. Born April 25, 1929 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Cornelius Wilson and Madie Brooks Wilson and was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph L. Palmateer, Jr.; two brothers, Jack Wilson and Marvin Wilson and three sisters, Gladys W. Hanks, Virginia W. Shepherd, and Frances W. Rogers. Mrs. Palmateer was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a member of Southview United Methodist Church. Mrs. Palmateer is survived by two daughters, Belinda B. Bailey and husband John of Triangle, VA and Charlotte A. Palmateer of Lynchburg; one brother, Clyde (Tiny) Wilson of Tennessee; a sister, Carol W. Downes, of Lynchburg and two grandchildren, Brandon Bailey and Jamie Bailey. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Gary Vernon officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
