IN THE CARE OF
Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel
Frances (Doris) Carney Nance, 91, of Midlothian, went home to be with the Lord on November 16, 2017, and to reunite with Robert, the love of her life and devoted husband of 73 years. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Elizabeth Carney of Lancaster, PA.
Doris was a charter member of Bon Air Baptist, a deacon at Southampton Baptist, and, finally, a member of Huguenot Road Baptist.
Doris leaves behind two sons, Robert S. Nance, Jr. (Pat) of Chesterfield and David M. Nance (Linda) of Roanoke. Three grandchildren, Christie Nance Sauers (Jimmy) of Seabrook, Texas, Rob Nance (Christy) of Clayton, NC, and Mike Nance of Roanoke have wonderful memories of summers and special trips with their grandparents. She also leaves behind three loving great granddaughters, Allie, Annabel, and Amie Sauers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
By the grace of God, Doris was blessed to make new friends and enjoy their company and activities at Spring Arbor of Salisbury. The family will be forever grateful to their entire staff and volunteers and the staff of Legacy Hospice for their compassionate care.
Family and friends will gather to remember Doris from 3:00 – 5:30 on Tuesday, November 21, during Visitation at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, Virginia 23113. The funeral service will be held there on Wednesday, November 22 at 11:00. A private graveside service will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in memory of Doris Nance may be made to Huguenot Road Baptist.
