Joan T. Peltier

Joan T. Peltier, 87, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2017, with her family at her side. One of six children of Edward and Sophia Schroeder, Joan was born in 1930 in La Porte, IN. She received her Registered Nursing degree at St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Indiana where she met her late husband Hubert C. Peltier. An incredible wife of 63 years and wonderful mother of six children, Joan was an avid bridge player and amateur painter. She is survived by daughter, Jan Draber (Skip) of Vienna, WV; daughter, Marcia Brinker (Chris) of Wilmington, DE; daughter, Karen Riggert (Dave) of Groton, MA; son, Bret William Peltier, of Kitty Hawk, NC; and son, Jeffrey Hubert Peltier, of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren, Brandon Peltier (Nicole); Ross and Lauren Draber; Eric, Ryan and Keith Brinker; Julie, Sarah, and Jacob Riggert; daughter-in-law, Nancy Peltier; great-grandson Chase Peltier; sister Martha Davis (Gaylord) of Noblesville, IN and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her late husband, she was preceded in death by son, Mark Edward Peltier. A private service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be offered at www.nelsenwilliamsburg.com.
