Helen C. "Chicken" Cubbage

Helen Frances Chambers Cubbage, 92, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at Avante of Waynesboro.
Helen was known as “Chicken” to her family and many friends.
Born March 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Wesley Samuel and Jo Ella Marrs Chambers.
Helen retired from Federal Specific Electric Company in Anderson, North Carolina. She attended Anderson Grove Baptist Church in North Carolina and was a life time member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold Wheeler; sisters, Virginia Woodson and Etta Collins; brothers, John and Wesley Chambers. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Walter E. Wheeler, Sr.
Survivors include a son, Walter E. Wheeler, Jr. and wife, Donna of Dooms; two daughters, Shirley Moyer and husband, Sam of Grottoes and Barbara Jean Iseli and husband, Freddie of Waynesboro; daughter-in-law, Kay Wheeler; a special great-granddaughter, Madison Moyer; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Dr. Paul LaPrevotte officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson, North Carolina at a later date.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, 901 Shenandoah Ave., Waynesboro, Virginia 22980.
