John Spencer Chandler, Jr., 50 of Appomatox, VA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
John was born on September 1, 1967 in Binghamton, NY to the late John Spencer Chandler, Sr and Gerlinda “Linda” Irene Elliott Swansbrough. John passed in 2014 and Linda in 2016. He attended Cander High School, NY and worked as an Independent Contractor throughout New York and Virginia for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, long drives and exploring the outdoors. He was a talented craftsman and mechanic; work with his hands and creating things were his gift that he loved to share, especially with family. His humility, sense of humor and charisma lit up a room, inspiring great respect and devotion.
John is survived by his stepfather, Donald “Donnie” Swansbrough, VA and stepmother, Sandy Chandler, VA; siblings Dixie Settle, VA, Robin Swansbrough, NY, Timothy Chandler, NY, Richard Chandler, VA and Michael Forker, VA; two daughters Christin Elizabeth Chandler, NY, and Ashlee (Edilman “Ima”) Ramirez and grandsons Brayden and Levi; two stepdaughters Heather (DJ) Angel and grandchildren Hunter and Faith, VA and Brittany (Eric) Lowden and grandchildren Emily, Ember Lynn, Levi and Lawson, VA; fiance Christin Evener, NY and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Virginia at a later date.
