Kaylynn Nicole Gardner

Kaylynn Nicole Gardner, 18, of Amherst died Monday, January 22, 2018 from injuries received in an automobile accident. Kaylynn was born in Fishersville, February 7, 1999. She was a senior at Amherst County High School where she was enrolled in the nursing program. Her desire since she was a young girl was to become an RN and work at the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She worked at the Subway in the Apple Market in Amherst and loved her coworkers, and she was a member of Clifford Baptist Church. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Jessica Lawhorne Powell and Michael Powell; her father, Henry Fitzgerald, Jr.; three brothers, Henry R. Fitzgerald, III, William S. Gardner, Jr. and Michael R. Powell, Jr.; three sisters, Tiffany L. Fitzgerald, Jessica L. Gardner and Madison J. Fitzgerald; her Maternal grandmother, Jonie Hamilton Lawhorne, maternal grandfather, William Lawhorne and his wife Gail; paternal grandmother, Ruth Irene Fitzgerald; paternal grandparents, Nelson and Dottie Walters; her step-grandparents, James and Virginia Powell and her two fur babies, Gypsy and Gracie. A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Clifford Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in Briarwood Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Clifford Baptist Church.
