Paul Todd Gill

Paul Todd Gill, 56, passed away in Okinawa, Japan on February 24, 2018 and went home to be with the Lord. He is survived by his wife Leslie, son Christopher and wife Katy, daughter Jennifer, step-daughter Lauren Brannon and husband John, mother Marilyn Coffield and step-father Donnie, father Charles Gill, sister Shari Carroll and husband Dave, sister Theresa Jackson and husband William and his beloved dogs Russell and Ruby, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Although born in Lansing, Michigan, Paul grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He lived in the Tidewater area and Jacksonville, Florida until 2001 when he moved to Okinawa, Japan and began his world travels. Paul recently retired from the Department of Defense after 33 years, having served in notable divisions such as NAPRA, NADEP, FRCSE, and FRCWP. Most recently, he served as a contractor with AECOM. He held various positions including Planner and Estimator, Aircraft Production Supervisor, Aircraft Examiner and Evaluator, Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic, and Production Department Head. He won many awards throughout his career to include the Secretary of Defense Medal for the Global War on Terrorism. His job took him to a number of military bases and aircraft carriers throughout the world where he provided an invaluable service to the United States Armed Forces. He also enjoyed traveling abroad with his family and friends. He was a caring person who made an impact on the lives of countless people, both loved ones and strangers alike. Paul loved the ocean, whether scuba diving, fishing, boating, or just hanging out on the beach, especially in the Outer Banks. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Currituck Lighthouse beach access (http://bit.ly/2H2WHCg). The family will receive visitors after the service at 1120 Karen’s Way, Corolla, NC. If needed, nearby accommodations can be made at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Corolla. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
