Bettie Louise West

Bettie Louise (Robertson) West joined her Heavenly Lord and Savior on March 5, 2018. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Leland C. West. She leaves behind her three children: Iva Lee (West) Capps, Robert Wayne West (Janice), Alvin Thomas West (Kathy); her six grandchildren: Stephanie (Capps) Dyke (Rob), Ashley (West) Cadwallader (Wayne), Joshua West (Jesse), Angelica West, Bianca West, and Austin West; her 3 great-grandchildren: Connor Dyke, Ethan Cadwallader, and Mason Cadwallader. Bettie grew up in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, and came to the DC area during WWII. She worked for the Navy Department, later met our dad and they married in 1948. Our mom was the centerpiece of our family. She greeted all with an infectious smile and always made everyone welcome in her home. In lieu of flowers, our family requests that you bestow flowers or an act of kindness to a living loved one. A private burial for family will be at St. Luke's in Smithfield, VA for her eternal rest next to her our father Leland C. West.
