Max B. Middaugh, 93, of Ossian passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was born on July 22, 1924, a son of the late Ernest and Marie (Wickliffe) Middaugh. He served in the Army/Air Corp. during World War II. He later owned and operated Max’s Heating and Cooling. He belonged to the Ossian Conservation Club and American Legion Post 111. He enjoyed target shooting, IU basketball, golfing, and bowling. He was also an avid visitor to Coney Island Restaurant in Fort Wayne every Tuesday and Friday for many many years. Surviving family include his son, Mark (Jill) Middaugh; grandchildren, Megan Jernigan, and Jacob and Bradley Middaugh; special friends, Valerie (Wilson) Jackson, Pete and Julie Glassey, and John and Dakota Linser. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Doris (Besore) Middaugh; sister, Peggy Humerickhouse; and brother, Doyle Middaugh. Per Max’s request, a private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian. Memorials may be left to American Legion Post 111, 111 W. Washington St., Bluffton, Indiana 46714. Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, Ossian are handling arrangements.
