Mark Taylor’s Obituary Mark Robert Taylor, age 45, departed to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 1st, 2018 at Saint Rose Dominica Hospital, Las Vegas, Nevada. Mark Taylor was born on July 21st, 1972 in London, England to Marvin and Carol Taylor, a United States Marine and an Administrative Secretary respectively. He was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Arlington, VA and then Capital Worship Center in Manassas, VA. Even from an early age, he not only attended church, but was an avid supporter and a great help at church events. He graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA, Laney Community College in Oakland California, and the Columbia School of Broadcasting, in Vienna, VA. Mark was blessed with a loving family. He married Ms. Antoinette Bridges on November 15th, 2001. He has one step-daughter, Joy Gibbs-Kimble and one adopted son, Joshua Taylor. He and Antoinette were also foster parents. They provided a warm and caring home for many children. Mark's heart was bigger than any room that he ever occupied, and his smile was contagious. Mark was very busy in Radio and Television. He worked at WJLA Channel 7 in Arlington VA, WPGC Radio in Greenbelt MD, Lockwood Broadcasting in Richmond VA, and News Channel 46 in Las Vegas NV. He was a very social and outgoing person. He always wore a smile. He loved meeting new people. He was also a very hard worker and didn’t mind working extra hours to get the job done. Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette on Palm Sunday 2014. He is survived by his parents Marvin and Carol Taylor, his sister Tracy Taylor, his stepdaughter Joy, and his adopted son Joshua. A memorial ceremony will be held for Mark Taylor at Murphy’s funeral home in Arlington, Virginia. Mark will then be buried at Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington at a later date. The family graciously accepts prayers, condolences, and memories. Mark Taylor, was an incredible young man, son and father. He was most certainly the definition of a mama's boy. Mark loved his mother, father, his only sister Tracy, and all of his extended family. In turn, Mark was loved by everyone that he met. His infectious personality brightened every room that he entered with laughter. No one would have ever known the physical struggles that Mark dealt with all of his life. He had seasonal allergies and he had asthma. But he had a way of looking past life's struggles and turning them into possibilities. He didn’t let his asthma stop him from doing what he loved to do. He was even on the Washington-Lee High School track team. He had many friends in Nevada at the gym and at his jobs, that not only helped him, but helped us when we went to collect his items. A special thank you to Stephanie Mac, Shantrese Baldwin, and Terry Dabney. Ms. Shantrese Baldwin was with Mark at the hospital when he passed away. Like many of you that have come in contact with Mark throughout the years, I'm sure that you have memories to share. We will all miss him greatly, but as one young friend said, he is now keeping Jesus company. Mark was gifted to reach out to others, as he has done to so many of you, his friends. And now during this time of bereavement, we give you an opportunity to reach out to Mark’s family and would kindly ask that you contribute a card instead of flowers in memory of Mark Taylor.
