Mitchell Lee Thompson, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at his home.
He was born on August 25, 1951 to Benjamin F. and JoAnn Thompson in Columbus, Indiana. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1970 and married Carol Lynn Conrad on December 1, 1971 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Latter- Day Saint Temple.
He was a member of The Church of Latter-Day Saints.
Mitch worked as a radiator repairman at Percifield Inc. and David's Inc. for over 30 years. He later retired from Rightway Fasteners Inc.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family. He spent many weekends at car shows with his father showing his 1953 International Pick-up truck. He also enjoyed going to antique engine and tractor shows.
He is survived by his children Jeremy (Cindy) Thompson of Columbus; Melissa (Jason) Sailor of Franklin; and Amanda (Josh) Blanton of Columbus; grandchildren Britni McKee and Mya Blanton; Lindsey and Liam Thompson; and Madison Sailor; a sister, Betty Thompson; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Natalie Thompson; and a sister, Tammy Thompson.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 10 am at Hathaway-Myers Chapel with Bishop Jesse Shoaf officiating. Friends may call from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, and thirty minutes before service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations in Mitch's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
