Martha Jane Weir

Martha Jane Weir, 83, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born Oct. 2, 1934, to Raymond and Norma (Howes) Heck in Terre Haute, Indiana. Martha worked as an activities director for nursing homes. She was part of the Grandmother Club, member of the Clinton Assembly of God and was a member of the Retired Teamsters. She loved shopping for shoes, purses and clothes. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gloyd Weir I; her daughters, Floy Weir and Yvonne Weir; her son, Gloyd Weir II; her sister, Norma Fagg; and her brother, William Pickle. Martha is survived by her son and his fiancée, Tommy (Connie) Weir; her daughter, Joeretta (Harvey) Lawson; her sister-in-law, Rosalie Edler; seven grandchildren, Kevin Lawson, Brian Lawson, Tim Lawson, Michael Weir, Floy Weir, Melvin Carrico and Crystal Carrico; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, with Pastor Paul Harrison officiating with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
