John Gerald Metzger

John G. Metzger, 53, passed away at 7:37 p.m. May 2, 2018, in his residence. He was born on Nov. 27, 1964, in Cumberland, Md., to Gerald V. Metzger and Carol L. (Sirbaugh) Metzger. John joined the Army in 1982 and served for over 20 years. He loved to fish, hunt, ride his bike, and play baseball. John was preceded in death by his parents; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. John is survived by his wife of 12 years, Jennifer Metzger; two sons, Ethan Metzger and Dalton Schatz; four daughters, Racheal, Ginger (John "Jack") Rodeheaver, Alexis Metzger and Mia Rogers; one brother, Jim (Michelle) Spiker; one sister, Dawn (John) Smith; one sister-in-law, Cherrie (Jack) Atkinson; one granddaughter, Runa Rodeheaver; three nephews and two nieces, Donnie Rogers, Stephan Spiker, Brittany Singleton and fiancé Cody Phipps, Kaylee Rogers, and Camron Spiker; one great-niece, Amarah Phipps; three stepnieces; four stepgreat-nieces, one stepgreat-nephew; and mother-in-law, Kathy Martelli.
