Philip Burton Scott, 87, of Grabill, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born March 27, 1931 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Warren and Beaulah (Moreheart) Scott. A graduate of Elmhurst High School, Philip continued his education and earned a Bachelor Degree in business. Philip proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era and later was a quality manager with International Harvester for over 20 years, from which he retired. He was a member of the American Legion Post 777, Indianapolis. An outdoorsman, Philip enjoyed feeding birds, gardening and tending to his flower beds. He loved spending time with his family and taking care of his dog, Gigi. Philip also took interest in puzzles, painting and taking care of his cats. He is survived by his children, Catherine (Kenneth) Ringer of Roy, Wash., Michael (Judy) Scott of Auburn, David Scott of New Haven, and Deborah (Steve) Curtis of Michigan; 10 grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; and twin sister, Phyllis (Paul) Shoda of Columbia City. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lucille (Sugden) Scott; grandson, Bryan Ringer; and sister, Mary Carolyn Scott. Funeral Service will be 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Hockemeyer Funeral Home, 17629 SR 37, Harlan, with calling two hours prior. Pastor Amy Beitelschees-Albers officiating.
