Martha "Sam" Ann Guess

Martha Ann “Sam” Guess, 84, Evansville, IN passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018. She was an amazing cook and a chef at Bayou Grill and the Red Geranium. Martha loved Thanksgiving and especially when she was able to get her children together. She was a true blue Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Robert J. Guess; daughter, Carla Alvey; and parents, Joseph and Alice Yeaden. She is survived by her children, James Walsh (Shannon, companion), Robert Yeaden (Debbie), Phillip Yeaden (Kat), Alice Sue Ray (Charlie); eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Yeaden (Donna), and Donna Embrey (close family friend). Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Pastor Kevin Evitts. Friends may visit 3-8 PM on Tuesday and 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
