Donald L. Foland

Donald L. Foland, 91, of Fort Wayne passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018. He was born April 8, 1927 in Fort Wayne, a son of the late Virgil and Lela (Scott) Foland. He served in the U.S. Navy near the end of World War II. He graduated from Indiana Tech in 1949 with a BSMe. He worked for 32 years at Fort Wayne Water Utility, Engineering Dept., and nine years as Chief Engineer. He also worked privately as a Professional Engineer for 22 years. He was a member at Grace Presbyterian Church. Surviving family include his daughter, Kimberley (Brett) Taylor; son-in-law, Stuart Norton; four grandchildren, Aimee and Geoff Norton, Bradley (BreAnn) Taylor, and Marissa (Cole) Vandermotten; and three great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Ruth (Fowler) Foland; daughter, Penny Norton; and a brother, Clarence Foland. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1811 Fairhill Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 3-7 pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the church or Visiting Nurse.
