Dale Edward Bass

Brownsville, Indiana Dale Bass, 80, of Brownsville, died Friday afternoon, June 15 2018, at Reid Health, Richmond. Dale was born on October 12, 1937 in Ohio to Ellsworth Dale and Irene McKee Bass. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and later joined the United States Military. Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his garden. He was an avid book reader and enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles. Dale retired from Dana Incorporated in Richmond where he worked as a machinist. Dale is survived by his children: Dale E. Bass, Jr. and his wife, Shawna of Brownsville; William C. Bass of Richmond, Thomas A. Bass and his wife, Charlotte of Oregon; Paul D. Bass, of Brownsville, Michael E. Bass and his wife, Amy of Tennessee; Kevin L. Bass of Brownsville and a daughter: Charlotte I. Mills and her husband, Bob of Kentucky; eleven grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death his wife, Dawn Renee Weevie Bass; his sons: Robert and Matthew Bass; and his brothers: Bob and Bill Bass. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty. Interment will follow in Brownsville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Wednesday until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
