Paula Christine Kaufman, 63, of Connersville, died Wednesday evening, June 27, 2018, at her residence.
Paula was born on August 17, 1954, in Connersville to Phillip Paul and Elsie Williams Matthews. After she received her general education diploma, she graduated from nursing school in 1992. Paula was employed as a home health care nurse until she became ill and could no longer work. She loved spending time with her family and the companionship of her dogs. Paula was an accomplished artist. In her leisure time, she loved to paint, make jewelry and work in her flower garden. .
Paula is survived by her children: Kelly Kelly, and his fiancé, Krista Winters of Brownsville; Travis Lee Kelly of Brownsville, Angie VanWinkle and her husband, Gary of Liberty; her father: Phillip Paul Matthews of Brownsville; brothers: Tommy Matthews and his wife, Debbie of Brownsville; Michael Matthews of Richmond, Robert Matthews of Brownsville; sisters: Karen Snodgrass and husband, Terry of Liberty; Amy Bass and husband, Michael of Tennessee; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six nieces and a nephew.
In addition to her mother, Elsie Williams Matthews, Paula is preceded in death by her brother, Fred Matthews
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday July 3, 2018 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
