Mary F. Bobick

Mary F. Bobick (Age 93) Of Springfield, VA passed away peacefully on July 6, 2018. Born in Huntington, WV to the late Michael A. Fotos and Marguerite B. Fotos, she was a graduate of Huntington High School and she attended Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. In 1946 Mary left Goucher College to marry Paul Bobick, her beloved husband of nearly 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul and her son P. Frederick Bobick. Survivors include her daughter, Margaret A. Bobick and son-in-law, David J. Schranck of Falls Church, VA; daughter-in-law Eileen A. McArdle of Washington, DC; grandson Paul M. Bobick of Eugene, OR; granddaughter Mary B. Schranck of Fairfax, VA; brother Michael A. Fotos II of Huntington, WV and three nieces and three nephews. Mary loved her family, cooking, gardening and playing golf. She was skilled at arts and crafts which included ceramics, flower arranging, and basket-weaving. Reading was one of her favorite pastimes, particularly books on English history. One of the highlights of her long life was a trip to England in 2000 to visit the places she had read about over the years. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, August 4th at 12 noon at Demaine Funeral Home located at 5308 Backlick Rd. in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the American Kidney Fund at www.kidneyfund.org.
