Harlton Gerald Hawk

Harlton “Mike” G. Hawk, 71, passed away on July 9, 2018. He was born October 5, 1946 in Elmira, New York. Mike had a distinguished military career in the United States Navy, serving twenty years and retired from the Navy as a Chief Electronic Warfare Technician. Mike continued to serve his country as a civilian preparing extensive plans for the modernization of Combat Systems on AEGIS Class ships. Additionally, he supported the Department of Energy and the Department of Homeland security with program management and writing skills, making significant contributions to the security of our nation. His efforts will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Linda Susan Hawk, sons Eric Hawk (Nolensville, TN), Shawn Hawk (Fredericksburg, VA), Joseph Pilkington II (Alexandria, VA), daughter Heather Hendon (Brandenburg, KY), daughter-in-law Alana Pilkington (Alexandria, VA), son-in-law Tom Hendon (Brandenburg, KY), grandchildren Sierra Aubel (Bellingham, WA), Benjamin Aubel (Brandenburg, KY), Jacob Hawk (Fredericksburg, VA), Abigail Hawk (Nolensville, TN), brothers Gary Hawk (Lexington, KY), Ray Hawk (Nashville, TN), and sister Lee Hawk (Nashville, TN) Mike will receive a burial with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date; visitation to be held at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield; 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151 on July 22nd from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
