Winifred Snyder

Winifred J. Snyder, 97, of Kokomo, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 5:00a.m. at Golden Living Center. She was born July 31, 1921 to the late Orville E. and Hazel M. (Whitehead) Smith. She married Otto (O.D.) Snyder in February of 1939 in Kokomo, he preceded her in death in 1983. Winifred graduated from Kokomo High School in 1939. She was employed for Delco Electronics for 23 years before retirement. She was a member of the UAW #292. Winifred enjoyed dancing, shopping, and traveling. She also enjoyed eating out with friends and sitting on her porch. She is survived by two sons, Eddie (Barbara) Snyder, and Monte (Joyce) Snyder; daughter, Fondra Acord; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Smith; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Otto (O.D.); two sons, Bobby K. Snyder and Danny J. Snyder; three brothers; and one sister. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Golden Living Center and Great Lakes Hospice for all their care and services. There will be a Celebration of Life for Winifred on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 4:00pm, at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 South Webster, Kokomo, officiated by Pastor Greg Reed. There will be a time of visitation from 3:00pm until time of service, also on Saturday, at the mortuary.
