Norma A. (Joy) Hanna, 100, went Home to be with the Lord on September 25th, 2018. She was born May 18, 1918 to Harold and Violet (Conant) Joy in Benton Harbor, MI. She married Walter Lee Holt on September 5, 1942 who passed October 7, 1967. Norma later married Chester L. Hanna on June 26, 1971, and he preceded her in passing on May 25th, 2007. In recent years, she attended the Indian Heights Grace Brethren Church and served as the organist for 25 years, playing until she was 93 years old. Norma loved to read and crochet. She was a very giving person, and was affiliated with many charities. Norma and Chet were involved with the Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years. Surviving are three step-sons Donald Glen Hanna of Jamestown, OH, Thomas Joe Hanna of West Lafayette, IN, Stephen Chester Hanna of Fort Meade, FL; one step daughter Delores (Gilbert) Brown of Belleville, IL; one step daughter-in-law Janet Hanna of Kokomo; one niece Christine Wadley of Stevensville, MI; one nephew Merwin Joy of Levering, MI; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, and special friends and caretakers, Greg and Cindy Carie. Proceeding Norma in death are her parents, husbands, step son-in-law Larry Hanna, step-daughter-in-law Barbara Hanna; two brothers Glen Joy and Vernon Wayne Joy; A funeral service will be Friday September 28, 12:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel with Pastor Larry Richeson officiating. Calling will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service. Norma will be laid to rest at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery in Somerset, IN following the service.
