Obituary of Betty Lou Johnson
Betty Lou Johnson was called home to her Lord on Monday, October 29, 2018. Betty lived 91 years full of love and devotion to Jesus Christ, her family, and her husband of 64 years, Robert. Betty was born in Hendricks County, one of eight children of Verda and Kenneth Thompson. Betty was a long-time employee of R.R. Donnelly and Sons. She was a devout Baptist and active member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church, where she served as the church secretary for many years. When asked several years ago about the key to a happy marriage, Betty responded, “Love and respecting one another.” Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; six of her siblings; and her son Larry (Jean) Johnson. She is survived by and carried on in memory by her children, Beverly (Ed) Long, Thomas (Charlene) Johnson, Renee (Michael) McCarty, her grandchildren, Dawn (Sam) McCracken, Nicole (Gregg) Crandell, Heather (Davey) Neal, Stephanie (Patrick) Dunn, Jessie (Jalan) Dotson, Laura (Kip) Glenn, Michael (Cara) Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Timothy Johnson; step-grandchildren, Ron (Carolyn) Cochran, Rex Cochran, Steve (Dawn) Cochran; nineteen great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
