John David Powell

John David Powell, 72, passed away Monday, October 29, 2019 at home with his wife by his side. One of six children of the late Burtis Lee and Violet Mary (Spalding) Powell, John was born October 8, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky. He served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard. John had worked for the former Colgate Palmolive and Del Monico Foods. He loved poetry, typing, working with numbers, and was a NASCAR fan. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Rita (Redden) Powell; niece, Kathy Ann Priddy (Tim); and numerous brothers and sisters in-law. Visitation will be 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Friday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery, Louisville, Ky. Online condolences may be made to www.kraftfs.com.
