Jonathan Neal Pietschman born 14 July 1945 in Marietta Ohio, died 31 Oct 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Orpha Pietschman. He is survived by his wife Barbara Pietschman; daughters, Christine Reese (Ed, Mac, Andre) of Spokane, WA, Kim Fisher (Jack, Claire, Mallory) of Mendham, NJ.
Jon was in the Air Force during the Vietnam War on a B52 crew and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and later served in intelligence. After military retirement he went to seminary and pastored a number of churches in the Richmond area. He was a chaplain at St Mary's Hospital and a volunter chaplain for Henrico police. He battled multiple myeloma for 9 years. The family thanks all those who cared for him; doctors, nurses, & especially hospice and nursing staff at St Mary's Hospital.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov 8th at Woody Funeral Home Parham from 3-4 and 6-7pm. A chapel service will take place at the Funeral Home on Friday, Nov 9th at 11am and a burial at Quantico National Cemetery 2pm, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the cancer research group of your choice.
