Obituary of Tracy Ellen Robinson
On Sunday, November 4, 2018, Tracy Ellen (Hampton) Robinson lost her nearly 3-decade fight against Multiple Sclerosis and gained her eternal home with Christ (2 Cor. 5:1-2). Tracy was born April 8, 1961 at Witham Hospital in Lebanon IN and she was raised in a loving home by her father, the late James H. Poor and Emily R. Poor. She graduated from Greencastle High School in 1979 and met her husband, Roger D. Robinson, as a senior in high school, and they married May 3, 1980 at First Baptist Church in Greencastle. Early in her married life, Tracy was a bookkeeper for Poor and Company but the birth of Kathleen Ellen in 1984 followed by Jessica Ruth in 1987, gave her the “job” that she treasured most, that of being a mother and wife. She loved her own children and she volunteered at the Tzouanakis School Library, the Scholastic Book Fairs and in Vacation Bible Schools as a way to share her love with other children. As the disease progressed and family could no longer care for her needs at home, Tracy became a resident of The Waters Nursing Home in 2013 and she moved to Mill Pond in 2016 but, for Tracy, she saw her new residence not as a nursing home but as a mission field and she sought to share her faith in Christ with other residents as she struggled to stay faithful even while her body was failing. Tracy died one year to the day after her father and she is survived by her husband Roger, her eldest daughter Kathleen Ellen Robinson Reinoehl (Seth and children Audrey, Emily and soon to be born child, Terre Haute, IN), Jessica Ruth Robinson (Ocala, FL); her mother, Emily Ruth Poor (Greencastle, IN) and siblings Laura Chevalier (Tim, Pittsboro NC), Mark Hampton (Diana, Quito Ecuador), Jeffrey Hampton (Karen, Bainbridge, IN); Eric Hampton (Susan, Brownsburg IN) and Beth Strahle (Tom, Pasadena CA), Michael Poor (Julie, Greencastle, IN) and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Poor Swope, on July 4, 2017. Visitation will be held at Hopkins-Rector in Greencastle on Friday, November 9 from 4PM to 8PM a celebration of life on Saturday 11AM at the same location. A graveside service will immediately follow at the Stilesville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the food pantry ministry of New Life Baptist Church at 51 Ridgeway Street, Greencastle IN 46135.
