Obituary of Bai Thi Le
Ms. Bai Thi Le, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Virginia on November 4, 2018. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Ms. Bai had touched in some small way, throughout her very long and memorable life. Ms. Bai’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile, soft touch, and kind eyes brought so much joy and comfort to all. Although she was so tiny and frail, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Ms. Bai had an unwavering faith in The Buddha. She was one of the founding members of the Vietnamese-American Buddhist Association in Washington, DC. Over the years, she had become very involved with the Ky Vien Tu Buddhist Temple and assisted with numerous religious/community services and fundraising events. Ms. Bai worked for more than 35 years with the Voice of America, an independent federal agency of the U.S. Government, as their language editor and radio broadcaster before she retired in 1981. Ms. Bai is predeceased by her parents Le Thanh Nghiem and Vo Thi Truong. She leaves behind her beloved son An T. Le and his wife Tam C. Le; and her cherished grandchildren, My-Lien T. Le, her husband Matthew and son Jack; Nghiem T. Le and his wife Evita; and My-Anh T. Le to keep alive her memories. A visitation and prayer service will be held for Ms. Bai on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 7 am to 10 am, followed by a ceremonial Buddhist cremation at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.
